-The Greek Islands are at their best from April to October.

-For swimming and beach weather late May to early October is the best.

In late March, April, May, October and early November, the frequencies of the ferries is lesser but they are regular. From later November to early March the ferry services are almost closed.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

-Valid Passport with at least two blank pages 

​-Police Clearance Certificate from the country of origin/ country of residence

-A decision to establish a branch in Greece explaining its purpose of setting up an office, the desired trade name, information of the legal representative and mentioning the right to acquire premises.

-The statutes (Articles of Incorporation) certified by a competent authority having jurisdiction over its registered office. It is recommended that the purposes of the foreign company match those of the branch.

-A certificate of the foreign competent authority stating that the company has not been wounded up and that its incorporation authorization has not been revoked.

-The registration number of the foreign Company at its domicile. 

-A certificate of the foreign competent authority relating to the paid-up capital of the foreign Company.

-A deed drawn up by a Notary Public/Greek Consular Authority in triplicate, relating to the appointment of an authorized representative and a procedural representative of the company in Greece, who can be the same person, who needs to reside in Greece must submit: (a) For a citizen of an EU Member State: copy of Police ID card or Passport (b) For a citizen of a non-EU Member State : Copy of a residence permit for the purpose of pursuing activities as self-employed person or a residence permit for the purpose of undertaking duties of the manager of a Limited Liability Company or legal representative or member of the BoD of a Société Anonyme.

-A certificate from G.E.MI that the name and the trade name (distinctive title) of the branch have been pre-approved.

-Completion of the application in person at G.E.MI.

-A Greek tax office M3 form. (Commencement of business)

-Income Tax Returns for 3 years including submission receipt and tax payment note.

F.A.Q.

Q : For how many years is the residency permit for the director/s valid?

A : 2 years and can be renewed for the same period, as many number of times, subject to prescribed government conditions.

Q : What happens to the family of the Director?

A : Third country nationals may get their family members under family reunification expiring simultaneously with the residence permit of the sponsors. This applies to the spouse and children below 18 years of age.

Q : For how many days can I stay in another Schengen Country?

A : 90 Days out of 180 days every year

Q : Will I need to have a visa to any of the countries in the Schengen?

A : You may travel visa free and no registration is required for crossing borders.

Q : For how many days in a year do you need to stay at least in Greece?

A : You need to stay for a minimum of 180 days a year. 

Q : In what cases can my application be rejected?

A : The application can be rejected for the following reasons:

-By providing false information.

-Existence of outstanding conviction or criminal proceedings for serious criminal offences in any country of the world.

-If the applicant poses a potential threat to public order, national security or to the reputation of Greece or any other country.

Q : What happens in case of concealment of information or false data has been provided?

A : An applicant shall not pass the due diligence test and the application shall be rejected. An investor can be deprived of the citizenship, if the status was obtained by submitting false information, fraud or concealment of actual information.

Q : What is of PRIME IMPORTANCE once the subsidiary or the branch is established in Greece?

A : The Branch or the subsidiary has to demonstrate real business activity or else, the residence permit shall not be renewed after the initial two year term

Q : What business can the subsidiary or the branch do in Greece?

A : It can either do the same business as the foreign company or chose to do business in some other sector.

Q : What happens if the Director does not intend to stay in Greece after the branch or the subsidiary has been formed?

A : A Greek or an EU Citizen will initially (or permanently as per the applicant's wishes) be designated as the company representative of the Greek Company towards the Greek Authorities
